The trend of an independent employees payroll system based on completed work (orders) is increasingly being applied. Although this implementation creates better alternative employment opportunities, in practice the negative impact is also felt by workers. Collaborative efforts between academics, platforms, and the government as policy makers need to be carried out. Center for Digital Society (CfDS), Fairwork Foundation, and various relevant institutions, collaborated in conducting research and dissemination events to discuss issues related to the Indonesian gig workers welfare.
